Anne-Marie has been organiser of Coffee-House Poetry for 18 years, was Chair of the Poetry Society from 2006 to 2009, a committee-member of the National Association for Writers in Education, a committee-member of the John Hewitt International Summer School in Armagh and co-founder & organiser of the John Hewitt Spring Festival on the Antrim Coast.
She has organised a wide range of poetry events & festivals, has been a frequent poetry competition judge, has edited anthologies, has written for The Guardian, Poetry London, Poetry News and other literary journals and poetry magazines, and has worked with writers’ groups, schools, hospitals, libraries and prisons.
She has written on poets and poetry, has read & spoken on radio, Channel 4 & CNN, including “The Essay” on Emily Dickinson for BBC Radio 3, (subsequently published as From Antrim to Amherst in Nov-Dec 2015 issue of Emily Dickinson International Society Bulletin), is featured in Optic Nerve’s series of short poetry films, Arrows of Desire, has written for The Guardian, Poetry London, Poetry News and other literary journals, and is frequently called on to host & chair literary events & panel discussions, and to interview novelists, poets, playwrights.
